Why are there so many different words for the same thing when it comes to sex? Why is blowjob called fellatio? Wtf? Is that what grandma called it in the 1930's?

Am I supposed to use a lexicon with a new girlfriend or what? E.g. "Hoe, give me a fellatio or I'll smack you over the head!" It sounds totally gay...

Please explain how to use sex terms properly?
